begging 2.0
For Nemanja Petrovic his risk-taking entrepreneurial skills paid off. The street beggar from Subotica got so fed up with being ignored by passers-by and hurried commuters he was tempted to throw the hat in. As an act of protest the 42-year-old tossed his cap and shoes down on the street with a hand-written sign saying 'Invisible Beggar' while he busied himself elsewhere and let off some steam. Once he had calmed down the cheeky beggar went back to his gear and discovered he had got far more than he had bargained for: ‘When I returned I was astonished to find a crowd and my cap was full of money,’ he explained. ‘Now I just put down the sign, a pair of shoes as a prop and wait for the donations to roll in while I have a coffee over the road,’ he added. Karl Lagerfeld is an Incoherent Idiot, Deconstructing 8 of his Nonsensical Tweets
Karl Lagerfeld is one of those figures who in a previous lifetime would have been considered the quintessential village idiot. Everything he says, everything he does stinks of idiotic mockery.
Here is my take on 8 of his incoherent tweets:
Karl: Luxury is the ease of a t-shirt in a very expensive dress.
Michael: Luxury is a big lie used to separate people from each other. Luxury is used to create a class structure in which the poor cannot afford access to the lives of the rich. Luxury is the mockery of the people, to live a luxurious life while people starve, how do you like that Karl?
Karl: With expensive fashion, the inside should be as perfect as the outside.
Michael: Expensive fashion is an excuse to turn women into zombie-like consumers of images that they cannot afford. Expensive fashion is a fraudulent industry, which takes the labor of the people for as cheaply as possible and then it creates an imaginary value in the hands of the rich. What is it like Karl? What is it like wearing a $15,000 dress in a village where $15,000 can feed the whole village for a year?
Karl: Nonchalance in couture is very important, because couture without nonchalance is just the drag queen attitude of women of an era past.
Michael: Nonchalance is the excuse that people use for avoiding action against injustice. Nonchalance is avoiding brutal facts of inequality. Nonchalance is the feeling that the upper class have nurtured and harvested in order to avoid confronting the inherent selfishness of their actions. Can a hungry child be nonchalant to food and hunger? Can a poor woman in Detroit dying because she cannot afford a basic surgery be nonchalant? How about that Karl?
Karl: Luxury is the income tax of vanity. But it is so pleasant.
Michael: What is so pleasant about a generation of apolitical women spending billions trying to attain a reality that does not exist? What is so pleasant Karl about deceiving the people with armies of fashion writers and magazines? What is so pleasant about watching people starve while shopping for an $800 scarf?
Karl: Fashion keeps me designing: the love of change, the idea that the next one will be the right one, the nonstop dialogue.”
Michael: Fashion is not what keeps you designing Karl, it is money. It is your hunger for money and accumulation. It is your diseased psychology, it is your sodden instincts. It is not fashion and art that keep you going, it is the love for money and power and wealth and that hoarding of the people’s resources. How about that Karl?
Karl: I have no idea of the future — never, ever. That’s what I like about fashion. It’s paradise now.
Michael: The future is the revolution Karl. The future is the people’s future. The future is when we grow conscious and debunk your images and vain super model idols. The future is when the people shut the advertised nonsense up. Of course you have no idea about the future, because if you think about it for a second, you’d realize that you’re complicit in the destruction of women’s psychology day after day. How about that Karl?
Karl: I only go to places if I have a professional reason. I’m not a tourist.
Michael: That is because you’re a neocolonialist, of the image type. That is because you spend your days trying to find ways to push your rotting into new markets. You are not a tourist Karl, because you do not believe in culture, because you have spend your entire life erasing the cultures of the world and replacing them with high consumption habits. How about that Karl?
Karl: My greatest problem in life is my indifference to the outside world.
Michael: That is because you’re weak Karl. That is because you have betrayed the people and have become obsessed with money and profits. That is because you are nothing but a profiteer with no human vision. That is because you are nothing but a capitalist trying to accumulate mountains of capital. Your indifference to the outside world is a byproduct of your stale, rotting, political consciousness. How about that Karl?

Darwinian evolution of computers and other inorganic machines
One of the most important discoveries of the last 200 years was Darwin’s theory of evolution. You are almost certainly educated in the ways and whys and wherefores of evolution, but here’s a quick recap: through multiple generations of a species, there is a process which ensures the survival of the fittest and the demise of the weakest. At its most basic, this process whittles out bad DNA mutations and embraces the good — but extrapolated out through billions of years, and it is the reason that girls prefer taller boys, and why we instinctively revere the leaders and generals of our society.

Why We Crave Creativity but Reject Creative Ideas
ScienceDaily (Sep. 5, 2011) — Most people view creativity as an asset -- until they come across a creative idea. That's because creativity not only reveals new perspectives; it promotes a sense of uncertainty.

Come and be an Israeli! - The Economist
IF HE needs a refuge, Colonel Muammar Qaddafi might consider the Israeli town of Netanya. An Israeli family of Libyan origin has recently surfaced saying they are the colonel’s relatives and that he should think of making aliyah (the Jewish voyage of return) and claim Israeli citizenship as any Jew may do under Israeli law. Gita Boaron told Israeli television she shares a great-grandmother with the colonel. “She fled her Jewish husband for a Muslim sheikh,” she says. “Her daughter was the colonel’s mother, making him Jewish under rabbinic law.”

Adaptive Camouflage Cloak for Combat Vehicles - BAE
The system called ‘ADAPTIV’ was developed and patented in Sweden, it operates over infra-red and other frequencies. ADAPTIV can instantly blend the vehicle into the background, reducing detection range below 500 meters. Furthermore, the new technology can also mimic natural objects and other vehicles, and offer cooperative Interrogator Friend/Foe (IFF) capability by displaying distinctive patterns visible only at certain spectral range or in response to an interrogation signal (for example, illumination by coded laser designation).

Banksy vs. Robbo
Banksy is demanding an investigation over Channel 4's documentary "Graffiti Wars".
Banksy says it implies that he was responsible for putting his rival in a coma.
He is outraged by inaccuracies and distortions in "a willful and malicious attempt by the film-makes to damage credibility and reputation", Banksy sent a formal letter of complaint to the broadcaster.
In a statement Banksy said : "Graffiti Wars contained some inaccuracies that I've asked to be investigated and some facts that need to be corrected. They alleged I painted over a piece by Robbo and led viewers to believe I had something to do with him being in a coma. I wish Robbo a full and speedy recovery."
He also criticises the programme's filming of a reception for Robbo's first gallery exhibition, focusing on a couple who refused to be interviewed, wrongly identifying them as "two members of Team Banksy … a business associate and Banksy's PR agent", implying they were scouting the opposition. Banksy's official PR agent, Jo Brooks, said she had no idea who the couple were and denied that they were associated with Banksy.
Channel 4 has edited the couple from its website version and denies the other allegations: "Graffiti Wars in no way suggests that Banksy was responsible for the injuries sustained by King Robbo … The documentary clearly states that Banksy did not realise he was painting over Robbo's work and includes a picture of the deteriorated work."
In the meantime, you can watch "Graffiti Wars" HERE and let us know what you think!

thas when they sell HORINCA on the road
Germans have their Schnapps, French have Eaux-de-vie, and the people of Maramures, in the northwestern part of Romania, have horinca ~ a traditional double-distilled plum brandy.
It is a well-respected tradition in this part of the country to welcome travelers and guests with homemade breads and a small glass of horinca.
In early September, fruit and vegetable markets all over Romania are stocked with overripe plums. The fruits are then crushed in large oak barrels and left to ferment until the first snowfall. By then the plums are turned into a thick, crusty paste with brown sludge at the bottom, perfect for distilling.
The first few drops of liquor will be very bitter and strong (around 94 percent alcohol.) The real art of horinca making lies in knowing how much of this initial output to be blended with the rest to achieve the desired taste and strength. On average, horinca from Maramures has around 50 percent alcohol and is often double distilled for purity.
As you go southwards in Transylvania, the flammable character of palinca decreases, while a more fruity taste of plums gains expression. To test horinca for its ingredients and taste, Maramures people rub a few drops of it between their palms. The result should be a bouquet resembling honey. When poured into shot glasses, pure horinca contains minuscule bubbles, referred to by locals as "pearls."
