Horizontal bars blocked their way, but the skinny teens all managed to wedge themselves through and ascend to the building’s ground floor. There they found three key rings in the security office and a logbook indicating that the guards were on their rounds.

By year’s end, Google glasses to stream info to eyeballs

When smartphones came out, it seemed like a leap in convenience to be able to carry important information on us at all times, instead of leaving it with our computers.

But soon, it may seem onerous to reach for your phone, turn it on and find the right app to get a piece of information, when you could instead just wear a pair of glasses that directly stream information to your eyeballs.

By year’s end, the New York Times reports, Google is set to release glasses that do exactly that in real time, so you won’t constantly have to reach into your purse or pocket.

The glasses, which will be Android-based, will cost about as much as a smartphone ($250-$600) and feature a 3G or 4G data connection and GPS and motion sensors. And, of course, they’ll sport a screen a few inches away from the eye.

Losing my Revolution

The Egyptian revolution on the 25th of January 2011 was unlike any other revolution in history because of the role of social media. Several blogs, Storify entries, web pages, channels on YouTube where created to document the revolution. Several books were even published documenting the 18 days. All of these contributions were made by the public, not historians, utilizing the tools of web 2.0. As a result of all these contributions we have an enormous digital content including thousands of posts, tweets, images, videos and sound files narrating and documenting the revolution. Als je naar de PVV- site gaat schrik je je een ongeluk. De tekst is werkelijk schandelijk.

Op de site zie je dat je kunt klikken op 'Meld Uw Verhaal Hier' Je kan daar met ja/nee aanvinken of je last hebt van overlast, crimineel gedrag, geweld e.d.

Het voorstel is nu dat velen van ons meedoen en overal 'nee' op klikken: "Nee hoor, nergens last van..."

Misschien kunnen we een kettingreactie veroorzaken, namelijk dat duizenden mensen aanklikken, dat ze geen last hebben. Dat zou die PVV actie (in elk geval een klein beetje) onderuit halen. Als Wilders met de uitkomst naar de minister stapt, zal hij moeten aangeven dat duizenden hebben gezegd géén last te hebben.

Doe mee, ga naar de site en haal 'm zo onderuit! Je kunt anoniem insturen, want ja, laf zijn die PVV-ers natuurlijk ook nog. De actie is via H. B. naar mij gestuurd en gaat via de email al flink rond. S.v.p. doorsturen dit verzoek.

If hackers can disable the global DNS name system, then typing in your favorite website into your browser will produce an error.

But the attack is no longer practical. It's such a common idea that Wikipedia has a page devoted to it. For something so obvious, defenders have spent considerable time devising solutions. There are many reasons why such an attack won't cause a global blackout.
