ACTA) is legally binding, and as it is an international agreement, this means it is also binding over national and European law. This is the reason why members of the European Parliament are so worried about checking the conformity of ACTA with the “acquis communautaire”, we do not want to discover after several years that there is incompatibility between ACTA and our legislation, because this would mean that our legislation has to change, not the contrary."
