Gerhard Richter's 15-painting cycle is quite simply one of the most important works of art of the second half of the 20th century. Now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, the collection of black and white oil paintings drew from ubiquitous photographs of the Baader-Meinhof era. To enable the robot’s speaking abilities, engineers at Japan’s Kagawa University used an air pump, artificial vocal chords, a resonance tube, a nasal cavity, and a microphone attached to a sound analyzer as substitutes for human vocal organs. The robot not only talks, but it uses a learning algorithm to mimic the sounds of human speech. By inputting the voices of both hearing-impaired and non-hearing-impaired people into the microphone, researchers were able to plot the differences in sound on a map. During speech training, the robot “listens” to the subjects talk while comparing their pronunciation to that of subjects who are not hearing-impaired. The robot then generates a personalized visualization that allows subjects to adjust their pronunciation according to the target points on the speech map.

A Few Lines About The Flyer
good morning partypeople!! here is my wannabe theory about the flyer inna few lines in bad english, about: what are we looking at here? it is a skeleton of a dog, we have an x-ray view on a carrier -(of course there is a link to the word career, but that goes a bit too far now,not?) structure: the bones. what makes it to an opening? well a surgery man "opens" the body to see whats inside, right? think for yourself now! i dont care about the other colours around,maybe a childish rainbow, or whatever... and the red colour? well the names represented in red are the bloodlines of that whole system.the blood is so to say what makes a body to an organism, keeps it alive. as you can see, it is not really clear wheather we (our names) are inside the corpse or not. but we have at least two possible directions indicated in and/or out of the dog!... huh?

Patatje oorlog verschilt per regio, kan zijn:
- a) friet met pindasaus en mayonaise, naar keuze nog aangevuld met rauwe (gesnipperde) uitjes.
- b) friet met mayonaise, ketchup, currysaus, pindasaus en uien.
- c) friet met mayonaise, pindasaus, currysaus en rauwe (gesnipperde) uitjes, maar zonder ketchup.
In België is een "Friet oorlog" friet met stoofvleessaus, mayonaise en ketchup.
De toevoeging oorlog is een verwijzing naar het slordige toevoegen van de ingrediënten, alsof het om een slagveld gaat. Ook de toevoeging van curry (in het verleden vaak ketchup) zal in het ontstaan van de naam hebben bijgedragen en zo bezien een lugubere naam. Er waren nog wel andere namen voor dit recept in omloop, die een even nare connotatie hebben, zoals het patatje overweg. Er is getracht een minder lugubere benaming in te voeren ('frietje feest'), maar dit sloeg in het geheel niet aan.

Patatje feest is een na de Tweede Golfoorlog ingevoerde politiek correcte benaming van patatje oorlog.
Ook werd er in 1998 gepoogd de naam van patatje oorlog in patatje feest om te dopen. De gebruikelijke aanduiding is echter nog steeds patatje oorlog.

De aanstootgevende naam van het patatje oorlog heeft er bij enkele snackbars toe geleid dat zij de lokale patat oorlog omgedoopt hebben in een patatje vrede.

runnin booty, slow march
I used the music video, Sissy Nobby's Runnin Booty, for the assignment on video/audio. By slowing down the audio and imagery to a more grueling pace, the viewer can disengage from it's obvious sexual mechanism and view other layers of the video.
Proposal for our Opening
i had a crazy idea last night. why dont we skip our works (only out of the big white room) and work only with the given architecture & structures in it. we use the room and all the little accidents happen to it. a performance of dirt spots on the wall, plants, the soundsystem, patterns on the floor, neonlights... and just "design" the big white room! in the 2 other rooms we put a very small selection of drawings,paintings or photos from everybody! e's thinking of radical compositions to fusion our energy like this!

jus to complete yesterday night !!!!! i couldnt believe my eyes but professional savage attended yesterday the beehive meeting!! he's an australian rapper and multimedia artist doing a great wild show dealing with post-colonialism and gender issues,,, i almost won him for performing at the 24th but unfortunaltelly his not around amsterdam then. next time !! for those who dont know him here and to say, we had a bad multimedia performance by ieke trinks. didnt wanted to link up her blog, but ok here.
