  2. so his paintings can be interpreted in multiple ways. for me at first i interpreted it as a glory to the Rusian state. but infact it is more over an ironsitic expression. the foreced text within the hyperrealistic classic 'Rusian' image, and it is the text that makes it ambiguous.

  3. yes his work is ironic specially in the 70's. i would also point to how he is playing with implied horizons. 1 in image 2 in words layer… and of course the almost horizontal streaks of sunlight. the placement of words is kindda interestingly odd. (for eastern europeans it has the added humor in the reference that a lot of sign very really sloppy on account of which it comes as no surprise.)

  4. the last painting: these long tube you see on the ground are i think gas pipelines for private houses. this is sooooo east! especially its interupted at some point.the whole scenery reminds me a lot of baia mare. nobody understands,,,cryyyyying now...!

  5. Yeah, this is a nice one too. never looking back always ahead!
    and these lada's are also very 'oost blok', i like the feel of these cars.
